Reclaim the News
How do you get your news today?
Where do you get your news on a daily and weekly basis? The answer to that question really matters.
I’ve been working on a project I call “Reclaim the News”, and here are several sources / links I recommend you add to your smartphone or tablet bookmarks and shortcuts.
The first link is a Facebook page (“Wes’ News Filter”) you can add / follow / like. Remember the more you like, share or comment on content on Facebook, the more you “train the algorithm” to show you more of that particular content. I often crosspost newsworthy articles on this FB page:
The second two links are both ”vibe coded” website projects I have created the past couple months. They run on Google’s cloud services, and separately auto-update regularly, on a four hour cycle, so the content on each site is always fresh.
The first website has links to newsletters I subscribe to via email, mostly through Substack, but also through other services. The second site shows both an updated, “chronological feed” of links and “algorithmic feed options” for the 400+ podcasts I subscribe to. Consider creating “homepage bookmarks” on your smartphone for both of these, inside your “News” or “Learning” homepage folder:
I continue to write a variety of articles and blog posts about my experiences with the “Reclaim the News” project as well as AI vibecoding. You can access those collected links on my “Learning AI with Wes page.”
